Entrepreneur from Armavir faces fines and imprisonment for up to two years. Over the past two years, the man produced and implemented sugar cookies with a name identical to a trademark of already well-known manufacturer, he just added a number to it.

According to "Interfax", the owner produced cookies "Jubilee 2000". As reported at the web site of Research Affairs, during the police investigation was found that the suspected is a 52-year-old resident of Armavir . He acted on previously developed criminal scheme. In 2006, the entrepreneur has registered a limited liability company for the production of bread and pastry products. As a result of the audit report of documentation by police, it was found that over the past two years, the man produced and implemented sugar cookies with a name identical to a trademark of already well-known manufacturer, only added a number “2000” to a name of the product. Thus, the right holder of a trademark suffered because of the illegal actions of the suspected, which are estimated at nearly 2 million rubles.

At the present time against the entrepreneur opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under part 1 of Article 180 of the Russian Criminal Code “Illegal use of a trademark or service mark, name of the place of origin of goods, or similar designations for homogeneous goods, if this deed has been committed repeatedly or has caused substantial damage”.Sanction of this Article provides imprisonment for a term up to two years or a fine of up to 80 thousand rubles.
